InnoEvent's Workshop at WSYA

Saturday at the World Summit Youth Awards, it was our time to entertain and inspire people with a workshop.
The workshop was meant to create awareness about women in Africa and abortion. Two professionals came all the way from Odense to talk about this issue and take in all the innovative ideas.

Women dying from the aftermath from an abortion in a growing problem. One way to help prevent this is to provide the women with more information about abortions as well as prevention.

The task was then, to come up with innovative ideas. Ways to make them listen.
Even if it was a website, a girls club or a hotline.

Many different concepts where presented and debated, but there could only be two winners.
The one group who won had the simple idea of a SMS hotline. 24/7 would the women be able to get answers to all their questions by SMS.
The “far future” winner’s (in the sense that it would need some time/development before being useable in Africa) had an idea for a website. There you could find all the information you could need. They also took an idea from a WSYA winner – the “Harassmap”. A map over the places that helps women get a proper abortion but it also shows you where NOT to go. To help but also prevent maternal mortality.
